Over the last several years, we have really enjoyed geocaching! Basically, it’s like a high-tech treasure hunt using a handheld GPS, and there are over 1,000,000 “caches” to find that are scattered literally all over the world, with maybe 15,000 right here in the Bay Area. It might be a cleverly camouflaged film can in an urban setting, or a tupperware box hidden in a hollow tree stump way out in the woods. I’ve found a cache hanging from a tree branch 30 feet off the ground, and another that was submerged 15 feet underwater. They can be as large as a 5 gallon bucket, or as small as the eraser on the tip of a pencil. It’s always something new. We just love getting outdoors and exploring new areas! Geocaching has taken us to many unique and interesting areas that we never would have seen or known about otherwise. Here are our current stats:
