Just before New Year’s Eve, Janet and I took the girls to visit some friends up at their cabin in Dorrington, which is down the hill a bit from Bear Valley Ski Resort. For many years, hanging out at the cabin after Christmas has been something that I look forward to literally all year long, but we didn’t get to go last year because the girls were still so young and small. So this year, we were very excited to be invited up again. We only stayed for a few days, and I didn’t have time to go skiing, but we did have a fantastic time visiting with our friends and playing in the snow with our girls. I can’t think of a better way to close out one year and begin another. Here are some pictures of Carolyn and Elizabeth’s first experience playing in the snow! Enjoy.
We got them all bundled up in snow clothes, and they didn't seem to mind the cold!
It didn't take Elizabeth long to decide she enjoyed being pulled around in the sled!

I was very pleased that she wasn't constantly trying to take her mittens off.
After being towed around in the sled for a while, Elizabeth rode with Daddy for some real downhill sledding fun!
She seemed to enjoy it, for the most part.
Next it was Carolyn's turn to go with Mommy...
Carolyn seemed to enjoy the sledding run also...
...until she got a face full of snow at the ride's conclusion, that is.
