The girls had their first taste of rice cereal this weekend. I don’t know if any of it made it all the way into their tummies, but at least it went in their mouths. It’s a new taste, a new texture, and a whole new method of ingesting food, so I think they’re still just figuring out what to do with it.

The girls will be six months old this week. As you can probably imagine, much has changed since they were born. The girls are approximately 12 pounds now — or triple their birth weight (they go back to the pediatrician in a couple of weeks and we’ll get the official statistics). They smile and babble and giggle and laugh and squeal with delight. It’s such a pleasure to listen to them! I’ll be moving around the house in the morning getting ready for work and sometimes I just have to stop and listen and watch them. They’ve just begun to reach for toys. And once they get it in their hand it promptly goes in their mouth.
